A Brief Introduction
This page has been building itself slowly and silently, in the background, kind of like a wildflower seed sown by the wind, germinating and taking root without much notice or maintenance. Formerly solely a “professional” “portfolio” page before (online space to host a CV and some clips), we have decided to expand the usage of this digital footprint for more than just self-promotion to potential employers, in order to share different resources, tools, projects, and writing (in new and old formats) as a form of service to the public and our communities. It’s a continuation of the various practices of mutual aid, political education, organizing, and skill building we’ve been engaging with over the years and decades.
Who am I? I am a human person, made up of many non-human cells and micro-organisms, as well as influences/reflections of the many people (human and non-human) in my life and in my communities and in my ancestral bloodlines—hence the usage of “we” “us” and “ours” that will likely continue to emerge on this page. This perspective is informed by biology, Buddhism, and a lifetime of existential thoughts/dread. Over the past decade plus, we’ve engaged intimately with feminism, organizing, activism, advocacy, identity analysis, land stewardship, compost/decay, relational work, self-discovery, healing and shadow work, grief, love, joy, movement, [more to be added/altered at any point]. Forever a student to our ancestors and movement elders; nature and the land; my own experience.
What is there? We started off by hosting the digital version of the BedStuy Community Composting Syllabus on this site in 2024 (after receiving a community micro-grant from The Laundromat Project to fund the work). Since, I’ve have added the Brief Intro to the Art of Tea pamphlet I made for an Intergenerational Tea in the Garden event and am in the process of adding more here. The hope is for this page to be fleshed out with all kinds of information and resources for the people.
